Mighty Mic is a student-run group that organizes a benefit concert every spring at UCLA. Our goal is to use music and other forms of artistic expression as a medium for raising awareness about human rights violations and helping people take action. Two years ago, with OK Go as our headlining band, we raised over $20, 000 to help refugees of the genocide in Darfur. Last year, Blackalicious and Daphne Loves Derby along with many other musical acts joined together to highlight the struggle for human rights in Burma. This year’s concert will focus on the issues of violence and displacement in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Part of our line up this year includes:

We will have tickets available on Bruin Walk prior to the day of the concert, starting April 7th. The tickets are free, but we will accept donations to contribute to our two beneficiaries, Women for Women International and HEAL Africa Hospital. Furthermore, if you choose to purchase one of our limited edition Mighty Mic 2010 Concert for the Congo t-shirts, you will receive a ticket.
Due to the limited capacity of the concert, the only way to guarantee a spot is to get a ticket ahead of time. A ticket ensures admission up until 7:30pm on the night of the show, and secures your spot in the priority entrance line. After that, those both with and without tickets will be admitted, capacity permitting. Ticket-holders will also receive a special, reserved wristband before the show. General admission wristbands will be available starting 6:00pm for those who are non ticket-holders. We advise non ticket-holders to arrive early, as wristbands are limited, and will be given out on a first come, first serve basis.
